AutoFinance Pulse (autofinancepulse.com) is published by Bird South Media LLC, a South Carolina company (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
Information you give us.
- Email updates (the Weekly Pulse). If you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you choose to share it, the part of the industry you work in. We use the industry field only to make the emails more relevant to you.
- Contact form. If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, the topic you pick and your message, so we can reply.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Your browser may also store small settings on your device, for example that you dismissed the “Pulse On Your Phone” prompt or installed the site to your home screen. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run ad-tracking or cross-site tracking tools.
How we use it
- To send the emails you signed up for, and to reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the site running, secure and working properly.
- To understand, in general terms, what content readers find useful.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
Services that process information for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Kit — stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Web3Forms — delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Netlify — hosts the website.
- GitHub — serves the public market data files (rates, securitizations and similar data) that some pages load in your browser.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces the site uses, so your browser requests them from Google.
- YouTube (Google) — video thumbnails and links on the site load from YouTube. Watching a video on YouTube is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email. We honor requests promptly.
- Access or deletion. You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us (details below).
- Browser settings. You can clear or block site data stored on your device through your browser settings.
How we protect it
We keep personal information only with the service providers listed above, limit who can access it, and use secured accounts. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us. We keep email subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and contact messages for as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the date at the top.
